Ta-Da Tuesday… Fail

Fail #1: It’s Wednesday
Fail #2: My to do list went virtually untouched for the past week
So I am giving myself a big, fat, red

However, I did manage to go through Korbin’s toys and now have 2 paper sacks of toys to take to Goodwill.
This week's things to-do (again):

• clean/organize/pack our bedroom
• figure out what is wrong with my sewing machine
• pack anything… I will try for 2 boxes

Hopefully this fail blog will motivate me!

Munchkin Monday

I was hoping to do a Munchkin Monday about Baby J, but we didn’t get to schedule her arrival. So, I will just have to brag a bit about Korbin.

He has a wild imagination! I asked him the other day if he had fun playing with friends and he told me he had fun on the merry-go-round. I asked him what he was talking about and he said “At the carnival!” He is so good at pretending, too.

At my doctor’s appointment yesterday he was pretending to drive a boat using a rolling chair. Then he & Jacob were pretending my boots were puppets! It was so cute!

Next Monday I have another appointment with my doctor where we should schedule Baby J’s arrival!

Dear John

Yesterday I finished reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. It wasn't quite what I expected, but still a very good book. I can't wait to see the movie. I'm sure the movie will get some tears out of me! : ) Once again, Nicholas Sparks wrote an unexpected ending, but I wouldn't have changed a thing about it. I definitely recommend this book to anyone.

After finishing Dear John, I started The Guardian (another Nicholas Sparks book). I'm only 2 chapters in, so I'm still not too sure about this one.

Apparently I'm on a Nicholas Sparks kick : ) Next I want to read A Walk to Remember (one of my favorite movies, I didn't even know it was a book!)

Wordless Wednesday: Hanging Out

Ta-Da Tuesday

This is my day to brag about things I have accomplished in the past week. Hopefully it will keep me motivated.

• took all of the pictures off the walls and packed them : )
• packed all of our extra dishes that never get used
• took a huge box to Goodwill
• scrubbed the stove clean (not the oven... not allowed to do that)
• organized the cabinets & bathroom
• 3 rows of my blanket are sewn together!!!
  

 It may not seem like much, but in our tiny apartment it makes a huge difference!

This week's things to-do:

• clean/organize/pack our bedroom
• organize & get rid of Korbin's toys
• try to fix the sewing machine to finish my blanket
• pack random things away

Munchkin Monday

I'm stealing this idea from a friend. 

Every Monday I'm going to try to post something about Korbin. Maybe just a picture or something funny he said or did.

This is his awesome after nap bed-head! When he saw this picture he told me, "Mom, I like a dork" (translation: I look like a dork)

 

I've Been Reading...

A few days ago I finished reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. I really liked this book. It was interesting enough to keep my attention but not overly romantic (I am not into mushy romance books). The ending had a little twist to the end, which I love about Nicholas Sparks; his writing isn't too obvious. I also enjoyed the military aspect of the book.

Last night I started reading Dear John, also by Nicholas Sparks. I have been warned that I will cry, and probably a lot. So with fair warning I dove in. I'm only a couple of chapters in but I already know I'm going to love this book. I had never heard of this book until I saw the preview for the movie. And I have to finish this book before I go see the movie!

Family Pictures

New Years Eve & A Little of 2010

The first picture is from New Years Eve. We went to Murphy's Grill with my dad and Korbin got a blow-up guitar. He danced around and played his guitar. :) The second picture is the night of the 1st on our long drive home. He put his blanket over his head to sleep.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was awesome! We had to wake Korbin up to open presents :) He got lots of cool toys but by far his favorite was from Santa... the tool workbench. Jacob got spoiled and my mom bought him a special tree: white with black ornaments. Our family tradition is having biscuits & gravy for breakfast (I always get stuck making them!) Joey & Tyler tried to sleep in but Jacob & I woke them up bright & early! After spending the morning with my mom we went to Jacob's aunt & uncle's house for dinner. It was a long day!
